Does Garmin R10 Work with GSPro? Here’s How to Set Up!

GSPro is one of the most popular golf simulation software options out there and for good reason. There are hundreds of super realistic golf courses to play and plenty of options to connect and play with others online.

GSPro officially supports several launch monitors including Uneekor, Flightscope, Foresight and Ernest Sports however you can use plenty of other launch monitors with GSPro using some simple software created by the users in the GSPro community!

If you own a Garmin R10 you may be a little skeptical about using it with GSPro but I’m telling you it is super simple to connect.

It should only take you about 15 minutes from the time you purchase GSPro on their website to download everything and start playing your first round using Garmin R10.

On this page I’m going to outline the steps for you.

Garmin Approach R10

  • Includes ball and club data
  • Automatic video recording
  • 5 courses on E6 Connect for iOS

1.) Purchase your GSPro license on

a.) There are 2 purchase options, subscription and subscription + lifetime add-on. The lifetime add-on will give you ownership of the license should you decide to stop paying for the annual subscription in the future. You will no longer receive any updates if you stop paying the annual subscription.

I would just choose the annual subscription as you are going to want the latest updates.

b.) You are required to select your launch monitor when purchasing. Choose “Other/Open API” to use the Garmin Approach R10.

2.) Download GSPro using the license key and instructions emailed to you.

You will receive an email with a license key, a download link, instructions and a quick start guide.

3.) Download the community created Garmin R10 connection to GSPro

Head to This GitHub page is where you will download the open source software created by a community member.

This software is what you will run in the background and allows the shot data from your Garmin R10 to be bridged from your phone running the Garmin app to your PC that’s running GSPro.

Review this page, download the files needed, and follow the instructions for setting up your Garmin R10 with GSPro for the first time. You should refer to the GitHub page for exact instructions since those are written by the developer but the rough idea is as follows:

  1. Download the zip file.
  2. Open GSPro and make sure you choose Open API in the connection window. If it’s your first time opening GSPro you may have to click the settings for this window to pop up.
  3. Locate and run the r10-connect.exe file that is in the zip file you downloaded in step 1. You may have to right click and choose Run as Administrator if it won’t open normally for you.
  4. Open the Garmin app on your phone and go to Golf Sim > TruGolf E6 Connect > Play on PC
  5. If it’s your first time, hit the settings icon to view the IP address and Port. Make sure they match what’s showing on the r10-connect.exe window that opened.
  6. Click Start Session. You should have 3 green lights showing in the r10-connect.exe window.
  7. Leave all of these windows open and running and go back to GSPro to start playing.

The steps above are just an outline of the process. Always read and follow the exact instructions on the GitHub page linked above.

You will most likely have to turn your Firewall off or allow the r10-connect.exe program through your firewall.

After your first time you will pretty much repeat the same process but you shouldn’t need to choose Open API in GSPro or check your IP and Port settings. Just Open GSPro, open the R10 connection file, and choose Play on PC through E6 on your Garmin Golf app.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I have multiple launch monitors or change launch monitors in the future? Do I need to buy GSPro again?

No. Simply email GSPro support and let them know which launch monitors you have. They will add the correct connection options to your license. For example, if you have a Mevo+ but you selected Open API  (for your Garmin R10) when you purchased GSPro just email GSPro support and let them know you also have a Flightscope launch monitor. They will add the flightscope connection to your license.

How do I putt on GSPro with my Garmin R10?

The Garmin R10 does not support putting. You will need to go into the game settings in GSPro and choose one of the AutoPutt options.

Is GSPro worth it?

In my opinion, absolutely. I found it to run easier on my computer than FSX Play and for $250 I have access to over 300 golf courses with new ones being released constantly. I don’t think there is a better option for golf simulators and it’s only getting better.

Can I run GSPro on my phone or tablet?

No. GSPro like most high-end golf simulator programs requires a gaming pc with a good graphics card. You should review the minimum system requirements under the FAQ on

GSPro actually has quite a few graphics quality settings so if your computer’s GPU isn’t great you can try running it on a lower setting. If you’re looking to purchase a new gaming computer check out this article on computers for golf simulators.
