SkyTrak GSPro Connection: How to Set Up SkyTrak with GSPro (2026 Guide)

If you own a SkyTrak launch monitor and want to use GSPro golf simulator software, you might have heard conflicting information about whether they work together.

The short answer is:

Yes — SkyTrak can work with GSPro, but it requires a community-created connector.

GSPro officially supports launch monitors like:

  • Uneekor
  • Flightscope
  • Ernest Sports

However, thanks to GSPro’s Open API, members of the simulator community have created bridge software that allows other launch monitors — including SkyTrak, SkyTrak+, and SkyTrak ST MAX — to work with GSPro.

The current best method (as of 2026) uses a connector called OpenSkyPlus 2.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through:

  • how the SkyTrak GSPro connection works
  • how to install the latest connector
  • where to download it
  • troubleshooting tips
  • what to expect when using SkyTrak with GSPro

Most users can get everything installed and working in about 15 minutes.

Can SkyTrak Work with GSPro?

Yes — but not officially.

GSPro includes something called an Open API connection option. This allows developers and users to create their own programs that send launch monitor data into GSPro.

Because of this, the community has created several connectors that allow SkyTrak launch monitors to work with GSPro.

These connectors act as a bridge between the SkyTrak software and GSPro, translating shot data so that GSPro can simulate the shot on the course.

While this method works well, it’s important to understand:

  • SkyTrak does not officially support GSPro
  • GSPro does not officially support SkyTrak

So support for the connection typically comes from the community on Discord.

The History of the SkyTrak GSPro Connection

Over the years, several community connectors have existed.

Early examples included:

  • GSProDeviceInterface-SkyTrak
  • early OpenSkyPlus versions

These programs allowed SkyTrak owners to connect their launch monitor to GSPro through the Open API.

However, when SkyTrak released version 5 of their software, those older connectors stopped working.

For a period of time, SkyTrak users could not easily use GSPro.

Fortunately, a community developer created OpenSkyPlus 2, which restored compatibility and added several improvements.

Today, OpenSkyPlus 2 is the best way to connect SkyTrak to GSPro.

What Is OpenSkyPlus 2?

OpenSkyPlus 2 is a community-built connector that links:

  • SkyTrak software
  • GSPro simulator software

It allows shot data captured by the SkyTrak launch monitor to be transmitted into GSPro through the Open API connection.

It currently works with:

  • Original SkyTrak
  • SkyTrak+
  • SkyTrak ST MAX

The program is distributed through the Simulator Golf Tour (SGT) Discord community.

New Features of the Latest SkyTrak GSPro Connector

Compared to older connectors, OpenSkyPlus 2 includes several improvements.

Two-Way Communication

Previous connectors only passed shot data from SkyTrak to GSPro.

OpenSkyPlus 2 allows GSPro to communicate back to SkyTrak, which enables new functionality.

Club Data Support

Because GSPro can now send the selected club information back to SkyTrak, club data can now appear inside GSPro when using SkyTrak+ or ST MAX.

Earlier connectors could not do this.

Putting Support

Some older SkyTrak connectors did not support putting properly.

OpenSkyPlus 2 allows full putting functionality including:

  • short putts
  • long putts
  • practice greens

Improved Stability

Initial testing suggests the newest connector is more stable than previous SkyTrak GSPro connections, although it is still community-developed software.

Step-by-Step: How to Connect SkyTrak to GSPro

The setup process is relatively simple and typically takes 10–15 minutes.

1.) Purchase your GSPro license on gsprogolf.com

First, purchase GSPro from the official website: https://gsprogolf.com

When selecting your launch monitor during checkout choose:

Other / Open API

This allows GSPro to work with connectors like OpenSkyPlus.

2.) Download GSPro using the license key and instructions emailed to you.

You will receive an email with a license key, a download link, instructions and a quick start guide.

3.) Join the Simulator Golf Tour’s Discord group.

The Simulator Golf Tour is a separate organization that hosts competitive tournaments on GSPro. There are multiple tours you can join depending on your skill level or preferences.

Discord is essentially a website that hosts chat rooms and the Simulator Golf Tour uses Discord for most communication and discussion.

Joining the Simulator Golf Tour to play in tournaments requires a membership fee and is optional. Anyone can join the Discord (without paying) and this is where the community created options for other launch monitors are shared, in addition to plenty of GSPro discussion and community support.

You simply need to join the Simulator Golf Tour Discord group here: https://discord.gg/9yqFCBM

Learn more about the SGT Discord group and what’s in it here.

4.) Follow the instructions in the # sktyrak_plus thread.

Once inside the Discord server:

  1. Look at the channel list on the left
  2. Find the SkyTrak / SkyTrak+ section
  3. Open the pinned messages

Inside the pinned messages you will find:

  • Quick start guide
  • Installation guide
  • FAQ
  • Download link for the OpenSkyPlus installer
simulator golf tour discord

5. Download the OpenSkyPlus 2 Installer

Download the latest installer version.

For example:

OpenSkyPlus Beta 9.1 or newer

Run the installer once the download is complete.

Windows may show a warning because the program is community-developed. You can choose Run Anyway.

6. Install the Connector

Follow the installation prompts.

The installer may:

  • install files into a C:\SkyTrak folder
  • create new desktop shortcuts
  • install the OpenSkyPlus connector files

Allow the installer to finish.

7. Launch SkyTrak

Next, launch the SkyTrak software using the new shortcut created during installation.

Once SkyTrak connects to your launch monitor, you should see an OpenSkyPlus indicator in the bottom corner of the screen.

The indicator will change color when connected.

8. Launch GSPro

Now open GSPro.

When the connection window appears choose:

Open API

If the connection is successful:

  • the OpenSkyPlus indicator will turn green
  • GSPro will show that the launch monitor is connected

You can now start playing.

For the most reliable connection use this order:

  1. Start SkyTrak software
  2. Wait for the launch monitor to connect
  3. Open GSPro
  4. Choose Open API

Troubleshooting

SkyTrak stays red instead of ready

Make sure:

  • SkyTrak is connected to the computer
  • GSPro is running in Open API mode
  • the OpenSkyPlus connector is installed properly

No shot detection

Try restarting:

  • SkyTrak software
  • GSPro
  • the OpenSkyPlus connector

Club data not showing

Club data only works with:

  • SkyTrak+
  • SkyTrak ST MAX

The original SkyTrak does not provide measured club data.

Frequently Asked Questions

What subscription do I need for my Skytrak to work with GSPro?

Currently you only need the Basic (free) subscription from Skytrak to be able to work with GSPro. There is no guarantee that won’t change in the future!

What if I have trouble connecting or using my Skytrak with GSPro?

First review the troubleshooting tips in the same discord thread you downloaded the device interface from. If you still need help, try asking in the #Skytrak thread within discord. There are lots of skytrak users there that are willing to help. Try using the search feature in discord first to see if someone has asked the same question before.

Why do I have to use this program from Discord to use my Skytrak?

GSPro allows an Open API option which basically means they make their code free to the public. This allows anyone to review their code and create other programs that can connect or add to it.

Regular users have created bridge programs that allow connections to other launch monitors like Skytrak and then shared them with the community. Once connected, the playing experience is the same!

Is GSPro worth it?

In my opinion, absolutely. I found it to run easier on my computer than FSX Play and for $250 I have access to over 2000 golf courses with new ones being released constantly. I don’t think there is a better option for golf simulators and it’s only getting better.

What if I have multiple launch monitors or change launch monitors in the future? Do I need to buy GSPro again?

No. Simply email GSPro support and let them know which launch monitors you have. They will add the correct connection options to your license. For example, if you select Flightscope when you purchase GSPro just email GSPro support and let them know you also have a Skytrak and need the Open API option as well. They will add the Open API option to your account and you can then switch between launch monitors using the GSPro connection window that opens when you launch.

Can I run GSPro on my phone or tablet?

No. GSPro like most high-end golf simulator programs requires a gaming pc with a good graphics card. You should review the minimum system requirements under the FAQ on gsprogolf.com.

GSPro actually has quite a few graphics quality settings so if your computer’s GPU isn’t great you can try running it on a lower setting. If you’re looking to purchase a new gaming computer check out this article on computers for golf simulators.

  1. I currently use Skytrak and GSPro together today. If I upgrade to the new Skytrak Plus, will the interface still work the same? Or does a new interface still need developed? Any help you can offer would be great. Thanks!

    • A very early version of a connector for SkyTrak plus has just come out. You can get all the info here.

So far the putting and club data aren’t working with this early version but hopefully the guys that made it will get that stuff working in the future.
